The work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC; established by the UN in 1988) and its regular ongoing publications in the form of reports is the best contemporary evaluation of “global ecology” available. Their 2018 publication (“Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5° C”) has been enormously significant for focusing the world’s understanding and conversations on global climate change. Hopefully, too, it will have significant effects on government policies (rather than creating more, to quote Greta Thunberg, blah blah blah).

The accompanying pages provide several other resources for ways to think about our ecology globally that I have found particularly insightful.
