Fred Bahnson is the Director of the Food, Health, and Ecological Well-Being Program, and Assistant Professor of the Practice of Ecological Well-Being at the Wake Forest University School of Divinity. His research and teaching focus on the intersection of ecology, sustainable agriculture, and contemplative spirituality, with his specific focus, broadly, being Christianity and climate change. In his capacity as director of the Food, Health, and Ecological Well-being Program, Bahnson convenes gatherings of faith leaders throughout the year across North Carolina’s Piedmont and mountain regions.

The Food, Health and Ecological Well-Being Program at Wake Forest University’s School of Divinity: “aims to equip religious leaders with the knowledge, skills, and pastoral habits necessary to guide congregations and other faith-based organizations into creating more redemptive food systems—where God’s shalom becomes visible for a hungry world.”
